Cardiff Castle Pass

The Cardiff Castle Pass gives you Free entry to:

All you have to do is apply at the Castle Ticket Office - but bring 2 passport size photos and proof that you live or work in Cardiff (a council tax bill or a letter from your employer is fine).

Important information for Cardiff Castle Pass Holders


Due to special events taking place in Cardiff Castle grounds, please note that your Cardiff Castle Pass will not be valid on the following dates:

  • Saturday and Sunday 19 - 20 June: Joust!
  • Saturday 26 June: Armed Forces Day before 12noon
  • Sunday 27 June: Polo in the Castle
  • Saturday and Sunday 25 - 26 September: Great British Cheese Festival

Special discount for Pass Holders will be available for the Great British Cheese Festival on the day.

North Gate

Due to special events taking place in the Cardiff Castle grounds, please note that the North Gate entrance will be closed on the following days:

  • Saturday - Sunday 15-16 May: The Romans Return
  • Friday 18 - Sunday 20 June: Joust!
  • Saturday 26 June: Armed Forces Day
  • Sunday 27 June: Polo in the Castle
  • Thursday 1 July: The Tempest
  • Sunday 8 August: Picnic in the Castle 
  • Friday - Sunday 24 - 26 September: Great British Cheese Festival
